Real experiences of retirement living at the Teddington Retirement
In their own words
The best way to understand life at here is through the voices of those who call our community home. Residents and families share their real experiences of care, comfort, and community at the Teddington.

Denyse: “I finally feel at ease and at home.”
When Denyse moved to Teddington, she found the perfect balance of independence and support. She enjoys friendly company, nourishing meals, gentle exercise, and sharing her skills with others—finding joy in both small moments and everyday connections.
Elsie: “It’s the little moments that make all the difference.”
Originally from Jamaica, Elsie built a life full of learning, family, and resilience. Since moving to Teddington, she’s discovered the joy of slowing down—finding patience through daily crosswords, quiet reflection, and the rhythm of community living. She’s made friends, embraced each day, and now finds happiness in both learning and the gentle pace of life.

Richard: “Music and friendship make every day brighter.”

He enjoys making friends, sharing stories, and playing music—a passion he’s kept alive for over seventy-five years. With supportive staff and an engaged community, each day brings purpose, joy, and meaningful moments.

The residents and staff alike are understanding, compassionate, and supportive. Everyone seems to recognize that we each face our own health challenges, and there’s a real sense of care and community.

Living here has helped me focus more on the positives, even when facing significant health challenges. Although it’s not home, the community provides a supportive and caring environment, which makes daily life more manageable and pleasant.
